I sketched a man-made, mechanical object, my stapler . . .
. . . and then created a collection of abstract representations of my drawing in Adobe Illustrator.
I researched ancient Greek art and created a presentation about it in Adobe InDesign.
I created a movie composed of clips of things from my childhood, including Super Mario 64, Home Improvement, the Spice Girls and the Little Mermaid, in Adobe Premiere. (I would upload it here but the file is way too big for Blogger :( )
I drew a playhouse from my childhood from several different perspectives . . .
. . . and recreated it in Google Sketchup, then imported it into Google Earth.

I even created a table and set of chairs and a bed to go inside the house - so neat!
I've really liked learning to use all of these programs and getting to be creative. This class was so completely different from any other class I've ever taken (no exams, no papers - what??) and I actually liked doing my homework. I'm not sure how useful my limited skills in these programs will be in my professional life, but I can at least say I've had exposure to them. It's something to add to my resume, if nothing else!
I'm glad I took the plunge and decided to take this class, but I'm also relieved that it's over. I don't think I'll take another class in the spring, because I'm kind of ready for a break already. I admire people who go straight from undergrad to graduate school - I don't think I have the academic stamina to make it!
Final grades for the class won't be posted until tomorrow, but as I currently have a 96%, I'm not too worried. :)
