Do Not Climb the Falls (#10); I Do Solemnly Swear; Gotta Get Back to Hogwarts

What do all these things have in common? They are what has been keeping me so busy lately!

*Last weekend, Nathan and I drove to Cunningham Falls State Park out in Thurmont to do some hiking (another item off my 23 by 23 list!). The weather was warm for November, and it was a fun way to spend a morning doing something out of the norm together.

Neither of us are frequent hikers, so we took one of the shorter (but still exhausting) trails that led to the McAfee Falls, which are the largest cascading falls in Maryland at 78 feet high. There was a sign warning us not to climb the falls, but there were children climbing them! So we figured we could handle it.

*Last Tuesday was the official swearing-in ceremony for the Republican Central Committee that Nathan was elected to. My mom met Nathan and I for dinner in Annapolis and we watched as he was officially inducted as a member!

Saying the oath . . .

It's official!

After the ceremony - so proud of him!

*Last Thursday was the world premiere of part one of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and as HUGE Harry Potter fans (or Pott-heads, as a friend lovingly calls us), we couldn't resist going all-out for the midnight showing! A bunch of us decided to dress up, and Nathan and I donned Hogwarts uniforms and spent the evening as Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley!

Our outfits - a success!

All of us who dressed up - I love this one!

In all seriousness, this is why I love my friends. The fact that I have people who love the same things I love and who are willing to dress up as book characters with me and not care what anyone thinks is so wonderful! A few of them hadn't even read the books when I met them, and I'm proud to say that I've helped to convert them into full-fledged HP lovers too! :)

Also, this past weekend, with the help of my family, I made so much progress in re-decorating my room! We painted the walls, got the new furniture assembled and in place and got my new bedding set up. I am in love with how it looks! I'm planning on shopping for the finishing touches tomorrow, and I can't wait to unveil the results. :)
