The best thing that happened this month was that Nathan won his election!!! I can't even find words to describe how unbelievable and exciting this was! Nathan worked so hard for this campaign and this success is an amazing reflection of his dedication and perseverance. I am beyond proud of him!
The week leading up to the election was completely crazy and culminated with Nathan and I driving around picking up yard signs at 1 a.m. the night before the election. It was ridiculous and exhausting, but kind of fun! I told Nathan that with the excitement and anticipation, it sort of felt like Christmas Eve. :)
On election day, along with our family and friends (including some of my wonderful sisters), we worked the polls all day. When the polls closed, we collected the numbers from a few polling stations and tried to get an idea of the outcome, but we couldn't be sure with just the limited numbers we had. We were so tired and very glad that no matter the outcome, it was finally over. This is us with the Jasp on election night. :)
It wasn't until the next morning that the results were posted online and we realized that he had won! It was pretty surreal and unbelievable, and I still don't even know that it's sunk in yet! We are so thankful for everyone who supported us along the way, and I know that Nathan is really excited and grateful for this amazing opportunity. :)
In other news, we finally nailed down plans for our upcoming trip to New England! Visiting the northeastern U.S. during the fall is something that I've wanted to do for at least a year, so we decided to make some time and space in our busy lives to do it this year. (Putting it on my 23 by 23 list also helped with motivation!) I love fall (I think it might be my favorite season, and I usually have a very difficult time choosing favorites!) and this seemed like the perfect way to celebrate this time of year. Hopefully we'll get to catch some amazing New England fall foliage...
Gorgeous! I can't wait to spend the weekend away together. And with a win to celebrate, how could it get any better? :)
